Monday, March 5. 2007Welcome to Fox Miniatures
This is the place to come to get all the news about the exciting line of WWII figures in 1/48 sculpted by the Tom Meier.
We have decided to go where no miniatures company has gone before. Set aside your fishing weights, your pumpkin heads, and your gigantic hands. Discard your 300 pound privates and your weapons of mass proportions. Ebay,Ebay,Ebay! I decided if your going to make something, why not make it the best. Now you can own true masterpieces. A timeless subject in a real scale. This is going to be a very complete line and a true undertaking. We will have our first release available in July. Please be patient it is just around the corner. If you have any questions we would love to hear from you. Sincerely, Jim Fox Trackbacks

Awesome sculpts?
Any idea what price range these "true masterpieces" will retail for? Are you planning on releasing these as sets or singles? Are you aiming at the "modelling" rather than "gaming" enthusiast? thks joe
We are actually shooting for both groups. It was the one reason we felt we should spend the extra time/money and give it all we could.
We have not actually ran one all the way through to a production mold and castings so our fixed cost is not complete yet. Pricing will follow. I will tell you this- we have decided to give a really good discount for guys who order multiples of the same guy. If you just want one for modeling you will pay a higher price(resonable). If you want to go for gaming you can afford them by jumping in with qty. pricing. I think this will work for everyone. Thanks for your interest, Jim
Shouldn't be a question about the "awesome sculpts" - Tom Meier rocks!
I've thought about getting into WWII tabletop gaming, but have never been impressed with the available miniatures.
Just too cartoony or badly proportion. Yeah, I know the compromises that have to be made in sculpting gaming minis, but while you can condone in in Sci-Fi an d Fantasy, it's difficult to ignore it in a era like WWII that military Someone once said: geeks like me are so-familiar with. These sculpts may have changed my mind. The MP44 LOOKS like a MP44, instead of a bad imitation of a modern AK47. Someone once said: "Quality will be remembered long after price has been forgotten" Looks like you guys are doing it right. Keep it up!
Thank you, I know you will really go nuts when I can get them in your hands. July is right around the corner.
Jim
I am amazeed at the detail, and love that has ben put into these minis!!! I pray that you pur out more of the "SS" figures, they're magnificant! A real crown to the entire ensemble would be a set of Fallschirmjagers!! I'd just have to go broke buying "SS" and para-troopers! I've never bought 1/48 figs, but, you've made a believer out of me!! Just by seeing the pictures of these minis, I am now going to go crazy until they can be bought....and most importantly...."Painted"!!!!!!
Please promise to email me when they're coming out, and where to find them??? Either that or I'll have to start wear-ing my Elfs Ears again!! Michael
Fallschirmjagers- no problem. Just give us some time as we pound this project out. I promise they will be worth the wait.
Will these figs be available unpainted, and singly or in sets? These figs by Tom Meier are the best I've yet seen in this scale.
Yes-unpainted. I do not want to give our friends in China anymore business than they deserve- if you know what I mean!
Sold in singles- with a real nice discount for quantity orders. Thanks for your interest, Jim
It was great meeting you and seeing the figures at Cold Wars. These figures have reinvigorated my interest World War 2 gaming. Looking forward to their release
Great looking figures. I'm getting into 1/48 scale more and more and such a line of figures would be perfect.
Just wondering if you will only be selling them through Ebay... because I'm in Egypt and we don't have Ebay here. Or will you be having a regular online store that deals with credit cards?
If you're doing requests, then DAK soldiers for me, please!
Either way though, I'm sure I'll find space to pop these in somewhere. A suggestion though; you mentioned single figs will be more, will you be doing three-packs, or five-packs of different figures? I do armour models and buying single figs could get expensive, whereas a pack of three or five different ones would be great.
Fantastic miniatures, cant wait.
I wish you all the best with the venture and look forward to July. These are gonna be big! Lee |
